Upcoming Events
Presentation Day - March 18-19, 2026
- The Kings County 4-H Presentation Day is a public speaking contest that 4-H members of all ages are welcome to participate in. 4-H'ers will select from one of ten categories to make a prepared presentation which they will give in front of a group and be evaluated by judges. Youth who earn a gold or blue award are eligible to progress from county to regional and regional to state. The event is open to all Kings County 4-H members; even if you are not enrolled in a public speaking related project. More information about the categories can be found in the University of California 4-H Presentation Manual. This year the event will be held at the UCCE Kings Office in the afternoon on March 18th and 19th. Registration Info will be available soon.
Farm Day - March 19, 2026
- The Kings County Office of Education is proud to present Kings County Farm Day, an educational enrichment program for all third graders in the county. Farm Day is held annually in March at the Kings Fairgrounds. Farm Day allows students and teachers the opportunity to learn basic facts about agriculture, become familiar with food and animal production, and have personal contact with farmers. The goal is to have everyone who attends Farm Day walk away with an increased awareness of the positive contributions that agriculture make to our local community and our economy. Kings County 4-H will be providing fun activities such as line dancing, collaborative art, and local produce taste tests with CalFresh Healthy Living, UCCE. If interested in volunteering, please complete the 2026 Farm Day Volunteer Survey.
Ignite by 4-H - March 25-29, 2026
- For four days, teens from all over the country come to D.C. to collaborate, connect, and cultivate a passion for expanding their minds and their world – becoming resilient and ready for everything life has to offer. Teens will immerse themselves in hands-on workshops, experiences, activities in their key programming track of AgriScience, Animal Science, Community Accelerators, CWF @ Ignite, Healthy Living (featuring soccer), or STEM to continue to find their spark. With the addition of public speaking, career and life readiness, and presentation workshops, teens will be able to apply what they learn to their own lives and take a step forward to become Beyond Ready for the future.
