This course aims to educate the public, Master Gardeners, and other stakeholders about the impact of the invasive pink hibiscus mealybug (PHM) on California. PHM is a highly destructive pest that poses a significant threat to both agricultural crops and ornamental plants.
With the assistance of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, UCCE Integrated Pest Management Advisor Eric Middleton UC Academics, the UC Master Gardener Program “Pink Hibiscus Mealybug in California” is now available. The course provides an overview of pink hibiscus mealybug ecology and empowers learners to detect and report suspected sightings of the invasive pest.
