Love Food Hate Waste

In honor of Earth Day, the UCCE Master Food Preservers of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties bring you a workshop on how to use food preservation to maximize the food you enjoy and minimize the food you waste. We'll provide some background information on the issue of food waste and equip you with tools to combat the causes of food waste in your home. We'll discuss how to make the most out of those trusty and versatile food-preservation tools: your fridge and freezer. You'll leave with knowledge about choosing the best storage methods for different foods, understanding the balance between waste reduction and food safety, and using some delicious recipes for small quantities of leftover produce and scraps.
