Valuable forage for livestock and wildlife is often lost on rangelands after wildfires.

It is not uncommon for commercial agriculture to share a common boundary with riparian, forested or urban areas in California. Some pest species thrive in these border areas and serve as a source of insect pest pressure on neighboring commercial crops.
