Our goal as volunteer consultants is to help organizations interested in creating or sustaining childrens gardens, school gardens, or outdoor learning environments, develop goals or focuses for their gardens, and help educate gardeners step by step as they plan and execute their gardens.

The Reemergence of the Palm Desert Charter Middle School Garden Program Contributed by Jax Patterson, UCCE Master Gardener Palm Desert Charter Middle School (PDCMS) has an amazing garden facility.

The UC Master Gardener Program focuses on serving the public. This Growing Master Gardener initiative focuses on the Volunteer, instead of the Client, and will assist us to better satisfy the UC Master Gardener Program mission. All UC Master Gardeners are welcome to attend.

Developing a School Garden: A school garden is an outdoor classroom; a living laboratory that provides authentic science-based learning experiences. These lessons also address the following California Standards for the Teacher Profession: 1.3; 2.2; 3.4, and 3.5.

A County Ambassador is the representative and champion of the 4-H program in the county. The goal of the county Ambassador program is to recognize the achievements of active 4-H members and to offer additional resources and opportunities for leadership, career and life planning.

The 4-H Creed Contest is for all 4-H Members who want to participate. It can be given by memorization or read from a sheet of paper.

Members in all areas of 4-H can complete in a variety of Home and Industrial Arts categories. Some of these include: Clothing Arts & Crafts Industrial Arts (welding, woodworking, etc.

The Murphys 4-H Club serves Murphys and the outlying areas. The monthly club meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in Murphys. Community Club Leader Lauri Medeiros murphysclub4h@gmail.
