Twenty Kearney staff and academics took part in the systemwide UC Walks program May 1. UC Walks promotes wellness and an active lifestyle by encouraging employees to take time out of their day to walk. The event also builds community and campus spirit throughout the UC system.

I was expecting to see more snow. Then, as I neared the east border of Place County, I saw it. The mountains above Donner Lake are deep in snow. For whatever reason, snow-covered mountains give me a sense of calm and that all is right in the world. I'm in Reno for the next couple of days.

Show me the honey! You'll see scores of honey varietals at the third annual California Honey Festival on Saturday, May 4. And you can sample the honey, ask questions, and purchase it--the soul of a field of flowers.

Hear that buzz? The third annual California Honey Festival, sponsored by the City of Woodland and the UC Davis Honey and Pollination Center, will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, May 4 in downtown Woodland. It's free and family friendly.
