Who are the Master Gardeners?
The Calaveras County Master Gardeners are dedicated to educating the public about UC research based information relating to home horticulture, including basic gardening, pest management, site-specific planting, fruit & vegetable gardening and other topics. Since 1983 Master Gardener volunteers have continuously offered a variety of programs to assure the UC developed horticultural and gardening information reaches the residents of Calaveras County.
Master Gardeners are community members who have been trained under the direction of the University of California Cooperative Extension. Each volunteer has completed more than 50 hours of formal classroom training. Master Gardeners help the Cooperative Extension office provide practical scientific gardening information to the home gardeners of our county
