4-H Day and Resident Camp Requirements during COVID-19
June 18, 2020
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, additional measures must be taken to ensure the health and safety of those involved in 4-H day and resident camp programs across the state.
These measures reach beyond the existing policies and procedures contained in the 4-H Camp Safety Guidebook and the 4-H Camp Emergency Plan.
Camp will look different this year (and that’s okay)
Presentation (6/18/2020) - Day and Resident Camp Requirements (PDF) - Presented on June 18, 2020, this presentation gives on overview of the requirements for 4-H day and resident camps
CDC Camp Decision Tree (PDF) - The purpose of this tool is to assist directors or administrators in making (re)opening decisions regarding youth programs and camps during the COVID-19 pandemic. It is important to check with state and local health officials and other partners to determine the most appropriate actions while adjusting to meet the unique needs and circumstances of the local community.
We have received many questions about the status of county fairs. We acknowledge the stress and uncertainty that families are going through because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Our 4-H staff are working hard to keep you informed and create new learning experiences to support the learning and growth of our 4-H youth.
Please contact your county 4-H Program Representative about the status of county fairs near you.
