Donations

ANR donors may make donations online utilizing the Donations Asset in Site Builder 3. This asset connects your site directly to specific funds set up on the UC Davis campus donations tool.

The benefits to receiving gifts made online are 1) immediate accessibility to the funds because the donations are automatically accepted and deposited to the account; 2) no gift processing is required, saving staff time and effort. These are compelling reasons to promote this giving tool.

To add job postings to your site, create a new asset (Creating an Asset) and select the "Donations" asset from the dropdown menu. The asset will initialize and provide you with some options.

Once the asset is initialized, you can select from the list of funds. If your site is connected to a unit with funds, this list will be restricted to those funds. You will also see the custom donation URLs we've created listed directly under the fund name. Here's an example of the fund list using Alameda County:

Alternately, if you would like to view a complete list of funds, click the link to view them all.

Select the fund or funds you would like to display, and a button will be created to link to the donations page. The button will change in appearance based on the type of funds you select. For example, if you select all of the Alameda County funds, you will get the UCCE button (blue and gold swoop). If you select the Alameda 4-H fund, you will see the clover and green label.

Here are examples of the types of buttons that will display.

When someone clicks the donation button, they will go to an intermediary screen where the fund or funds are described, and a disclaimer is present. Here's an example of this page:

If the language introducing your fund is not accurate, or you would like to enhance it, please contact Cindy Barber, Director of Development Services.

The fund or funds will be highlighted in a box. These fund names are links directly to the UC Davis donation tool. Clicking on a link will pre-populate the UC Davis donation page, so the donations go into the correct fund. Here's an example of the UC Davis donation page:

Lastly, if you would like to create a button to ALL main fund sources, you can do this by not selecting any funds. The fund list created will be identical to the main donation page on the state site: http://donate.ucanr.edu.
