4-H was formed in the early part of the twentieth century to extend knowledge and information from the state land-grant universities to local communities.
4-H offers limitless opportunities for friendship, growth, fun, and development. By engaging youth and adults in meaningful partnerships, 4-H helps young people to reach their full potential as competent, confident, leaders of character who contribute and are connected to their communities.
Each year, a 4-H member enrolls in at least one project. If enrolling in 4-H for the first time, it is recommended that the member take on only one project and do it well. As members gain experience, the size of the project may be increased or additional projects may be added.
Our volunteers are a key part of the 4-H Youth Development Program. By volunteering you are helping to grow the skills of 4-H youth to be our future leaders. Volunteering in 4-H is flexible and rewarding.
