Given the increasing diversity of our communities, we seek to equitably reach all youth with high quality programs. Historically, we have focused on two program delivery models, which include 4-H community clubs and camps.
For over 100 years, 4-H has provided positive youth development programs in the community. 4-H is currently the largest youth-serving organization in the United States and has more than 6 million youth members who participate in programs in almost every county across the nation.
The 4-H pledge is commonly said at the beginning of 4-H club meetings, conferences, and events. As a true 4-H member, I pledge... My head to clearer thinking, My heart to greater loyalty, My hands to larger service, My health to better living for my club, my community, my country and my world.
A 4-H Record Book is a standard record of your activities in 4-H - your projects, activities, events, skills development and learning experiences. The 4-H Record Book helps you improve your skills in record keeping, goal management and reflection on your achievements and growth in 4-H.
By completing a Record Book and participating in at least one project, Primary Members will receive a stripe and pin for their hat. Primary members are not required to complete a 4-H Record Book.
Each county must align with these versions and eliminate all supplemental forms and/or other requirements. 2023-24 Record Book Manual New Achievement Program (PDF) - This manual is for all Junior, Intermediate & Senior members, parents, volunteers, and staff.
Each county must align with these versions and eliminate all supplemental forms and/or other requirements. Record Book Manual Star Ranks (PDF) - This manual is for Intermediate and Senior 4-H members who have previously earned at least a Bronze Star in the Star Rank Program.
Special Interest Programs are special learning experiences that are not part of a club or school. They have a minimum time of at least 6 hours and over at least 6 weeks.
