Club Officer Resources

4-H club officers are youth elected annually in accordance with the club's constitution and bylaws. Under the guidance of the 4-H community club leader and/or the officer's advisor, officers are responsible for a particular part of the 4-H club's function.

Bi-County Officer Training

Youth members that hold office are highly encouraged to attend the annual Bi-County Officers Training held every year the last Saturday in September. The Ambassador Teams from both Placer and Nevada Counties partner to train youth for their respective positions.

Presentation Day

Presentation Day, usually occurring in February or March, is an annual countywide event that promotes communication. Giving presentations helps develop many life skills including the ability to speak in front of a group, organizing ideas, and creating and using graphics to support the spoken word.

Incubation Procedures

Use of Incubator - Prior to starting this project, review the instructions for using the incubator. Incubators are either still-air or forced-air (fan ventilated). Operating instructions and optimum temperatures will differ with the two.

How the Chick Emerges from the Shell

The time of hatching is an important event in the life of the chick. The head of the chick develops at the large end of the egg. Between the 15th and 16th days, the chick orients itself so that its head is near the air cell at the large end of the egg.
