4-H Short-Term Programs

About 4-H Short-Term Programs

4-H short-term programs are topic specific programs led by 4-H staff or volunteers. Youth participate in a self-chosen project learning experience that allows them to experience a 4-H project in a topic area that interests them. These programs are a minimum of six hours in length and run no longer than six weeks. Short-Term programs could be weekly projects, day-camps, or one-day skill-building workshops. Youth are welcome to register for one or more short-term programs. Discover what 4-H is all about and experience some of the amazing projects 4-H has to offer!

Age Requirements: Youth must be 5 years old on or before December 31, 2025 to participate. Some programs may have additional age requirements, which will be noted in the program descriptions below.

2026 4-H Spring Programs

4-H Cloverbud Day Camp: Session 1, Napa

Join us at Skyline Park for a fun filled day where youth will learn camp songs, create crafts in nature, hike, tie dye, participate in a STEM and outdoor exploration activities, and end the day with a sweet treat making S’MORES! This program is designed for youth ages 5 to 9.
Date: Sunday, May 17, 2026
Time: 9:00AM - 3:00PM
Location: Skyline Wilderness Park, 2201 Imola Ave, Napa 
Fee: $50 
 

4-H Cloverbud Day Camp: Session 2, Napa

Visit 4-H Camp! Join us at Enchanted Hills to experience a day at camp and what it is like to be an “overnight 4-H camper”. Participate in the morning short courses, enjoy the fun recreational activities, have lunch with the entire camp, and see what overnight 4-H Camp is all about! This program is designed for youth ages 5 to 9.
Date: Wednesday, June 10, 2026 
Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm 
Location: Enchanted Hills Camp, 3410 Mount Veeder Road, Napa
Fee: $50 


How to Register for 4-H Cloverbud Day Camps

  1. Step 1: Complete the online registration form and submit payment.
    Payments are accepted by credit card only.
     
  2. Step 2: Enroll in 4-H online at https://4h.zsuite.org/ and select the Short-Term Programs Unit when completing the application.
    Please Note: Please use Chrome or Firefox browsers when using ZSuite. The Safari web browser is not supported for the enrollment process. If you were enrolled in California 4-H after 2019 you already have a Household account - please do not create a new one! Once submitted, the youth member enrollment status will show as PENDING APPROVAL.
    If your child is already a currently enrolled 4-H member with an active status in ZSuite, no further action is needed.
    Use these instructions to help you submit a 4-H youth member enrollment application online.

    Alternatively, you may choose to complete a paper enrollment form. Complete and email to suzanne.raudaskoski@countyofnapa.org.

To request a waiver or reduction of 4-H program enrollment fees, please submit your request in writing.


2026 4-H Summer Academies

Drone Academy (Napa County)

Drone Academy engages teens in 25 hours of hands-on learning focused on drones and GIS mapping. The program is designed to spark interest in food and agriculture through the use of cutting-edge drone and mapping technologies. By combining interactive activities with real-world applications, participants explore the science behind agriculture in fun and meaningful ways. Time: 9:00am - 3:00pm 
Location: Napa Valley College, MESA/STEM Center (Building 1800), 2277 Napa Vallejo Hwy, Napa
Fee: No cost to participate. Space is limited, and registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Tinker Academy (Sonoma County)

Santa Rosa Junior College - Lindley Center for STEM Education, 1501 Mendocino Ave, Santa Rosa, CA 95401

Presented by Sonoma County Office of Education, hosted at Santa Rosa Junior College, and supported by University of California Cooperative Extension
A hands-on “maker” academy where middle school youth explore coding, robotics, 3D printing, laser cutting, circuit design, and related making activities. Participants build practical skills while developing confidence, identity as makers, and a stronger sense of belonging in STEM and on a college campus. Funded by Imagine Science. Climate Connections Academy (Marin County)
July 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 2026, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
College of Marin - Indian Valley Campus, 1800 Ignacio Blvd, Novato, CA 94949

An environmental education academy that supports youth in seeing themselves as people who belong on a college campus, in nature, and in climate solutions. Participants engage in experiential learning, outdoor labs, guest speakers, and a capstone project that connects local environmental questions to practical action.
