Get a head start on your holiday gift giving all while learning useful techniques to preserve the bounty of summer!

Jars

The morning starts with a guided tour of the Elkus Ranch and farm. Then we'll move inside to the commercial kitchen where we'll make a sweet jam, a savory chutney, and a fermented hot sauce. We'll preserve the chutney and jam using research-tested boiling water canning processes. You'll take home a jar of each product, as well as recipes and online resources so that you can try this at home!

A light lunch will be provided.

This is a hands-on workshop that takes place in a working kitchen.

Participants must be 16 years or older.

Workshop fee is $95.00 per person. Space limited to 20 attendees.

All event proceeds support the UC Master Food Preserver Program of San Mateo and San Francisco Counties.
