Each year, a 4-H Clubs member enrolls in at least one project. Members enrolling for the first time may be encouraged to take on only one or two projects. As members gain experience, the size or depth of the project may increase or additional projects may be selected.

The UC 4-H program in Contra Costa County is delivered through community clubs. To learn more about joining 4-H, contact the Club Leader of any club near you. Listed below are the club locations in our county and the club meeting days/times.

The 4-H program has a long history of record keeping. The focus reflects the importance of this life skill in our daily lives. In 4-H, young people have tracked their activities, events, profits and losses, skill development and learning experiences, and much more using the iconic 4-H Record Book.

The purpose of incentives and awards are to reinforce the motivation of members and volunteers to participate, create and achieve in the 4-H YDP; and to underscore a sense of belonging and being valued in the 4-H YDP community.

There are many scholarship opportunities available to 4-H members! These include financial assistance for attending 4-H events and conferences, for recognition of outstanding members, and for higher education.

What is a Contra Costa County 4-H Ambassador? Sponsored by the Contra Costa County 4-H Council, Contra Costa County 4-H Ambassadors serve as liaisons between the county 4-H office, 4-H members, 4-H volunteers, and the public.
