Sparks Information link for all Ages The 4-H program has a long history of record keeping. The focus reflects the importance of this life skill in our daily lives.
One of the major ways in which 4-H allows youth to learn and grow is through events. These events offer a variety of opportunities to participate, expand skillsets, and be recognized. This page lists the current Butte County 4-H events.
This event is an awards and achievement night for the 4-H members and volunteers of Butte County. This event recognizes youth who have outstanding Record Books, completed proficiencies, and have achieved Emerald Stars and All-Star.
Fashion Revue invites all 4-H members to participate in Fashion Revue to highlight their talents in sewing, upcycling, consumer science, leatherwork, and needlework.
This event provides youth an opportunity to share what they have learned or already know about foods, nutrition, and cooking. Note that participants DO NOT need to be enrolled in a food project to participate at Foods Fiesta.
Event Overview and Purpose: Public speaking skills are ranked number one among the desired skill sets of professionals. Every 4-H member is encouraged to give a presentation each year. A 4-H presentation can be a demonstration, include audio-visual aids, and involve problem solving.
Rainbow Craft Field Day provides youth who participate in a variety of skilled projects to come, exhibit, and speak about the projects which they have made. This event is not specific to a single project, but invites any member to show off their makings.
Event Overview and Purpose: The Small Animal Field Day is meant to fill the gap which both the Silver Dollar Fair and Butte County Fair have in regards to small animal competition.
Event Overview and Purpose: Butte County 4-H Summer Camp allows youth the opportunity to spend time outdoors and discover new things. Youth can swim, play, make crafts, sing, dance, and much more.
