Is 4-H only about animals? No! You do not need to own an animal to be in 4-H nor do you need to live on a farm. 4-H is a youth program with more activities than you can imagine.

Interested in joining 4-H? We have resources available to get you enrolled in the program!

4-H collaborates with other groups and providers to offer 4-H curriculum and programs in their Afterschool programs. If you are interested in starting an Afterschool Program please contact Crystal Cortez, crdcortez@ucanr.edu for more information.

Local 4-H Clubs offer programs of interest to youth in their communities. Each club is coordinated by a group of adult 4-H volunteer leaders and run by the youth 4-H Members and youth Club Officers. Most Clubs have a monthly Club meeting for all members and then separate meetings for each "project".

4-H Outdoor Science and Adventure Camp - Merced County 4-H has had over 80 years of camping.

4-H Special Interest Groups Some special interest topics are offered on either countywide or local basis. Most of these are short-term, but some run year-round. Some classic examples include the Friends Helping Friends Day, Summer Science Academy and 4-H Guide Dog Puppy raisers.

What is Communications Day? That's how we share information, ideas, and thoughts. It can be verbal, written, or drawn. In 4-H we want our members to learn and practice good communication skills.
