4-H es un programa para nios y jvenes de educacin no formal, dirigido por la Universidad de California, Agricultura y Recursos Naturales (UC 4-H).

Generalmente los clubes comienzan en septiembre-octubre y terminan en mayo-Junio. Algunos clubes pueden tener proyectos o reuniones durante el verano. Las reuniones de los clubes generalmente se llevan a cabo una vez al mes con una duracin aproximada de una hora.

Clubs generally start in September - October and go until May-June. Some clubs may have project or club meetings over summer. Club meetings generally occur monthly and last approximately one hour. Projects require a minimum of 6 hours of meeting time.

4-H Record Books serve a variety of purposes in the California 4-H Youth Development Program. While society has changed, so have the goals of 4-H record keeping. 4-H Record Books allow members to reflect on their yearly work completed as well as maintain records of project and club work.

Junior, intermediate and senior members may all strive for star ranks. Each star level takes an average of two years to complete. Star rank achievers receive a tangible star, which is often attached to the 4-H hat. Bronze Star: Complete at least 5 of the 8 PDR categories.

Im a cat person. Unfortunately, since my brother is allergic to cats, we only have a dog -- a dog thats been known to chase cats. But Ive found a way to spend time with cats, through volunteering. I first heard about this volunteer opportunity through one of my 4-H leaders, Lea OReilly.

There are two types of 4-H clubs that can be created within your community, 4-H community clubs and 4-H community spin clubs.
