Return to main Life Skills FestivalThis event provides two opportunities for 4-H members to show-off their knowledge of healthy nutrition, their creativity, and receive constructive feedback on their efforts. No need to be a part of a food project.

Sponsored by the San Mateo County 4-H Council and the 4-H County Office, the Emerald Star program gives the 4-H members an exciting opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity beyond the local club level and enter a new phase of leadership as they serve their club, county and community.

Return to main Life Skills Festival and Field Day pageThe San Mateo County 4-H Craft Expo consists of five different categories. Members may enter in one or more categories, and the item must be related to a 4-H project. You may enter no more than 2 entries per category.

This event is an opportunity for 4-H members to submit items they have made for competition at the county level. 4-H members participate in sewing, food, and craft projects throughout the year, creating a wonderful array of hand made goods that we will showcase digitally after the events.

Return to main Life Skills Festival and Field Day pageThis event provides an opportunity for members in any food project to show-off their cooking skills and receives constructive feedback. Youth that participate have a lot of fun, learn something, develop poise and self-confidence.

The San Mateo County 4-H Youth Development Program will hold a Non-Market Animal how. This event will allow youth enrolled in dog, poultry, rabbit, and pygmy/dairy goat projects to demonstrate what they have learned and how they handle, present and show their animals.

Our seven community clubs and annual 4-H Summer Camp provide unique learning opportunities. Friendships are cultivated at our 4-H community clubs across San Mateo and San Francisco Counties.

Updated March 17, 2022 Update to in-person activities, effective March 12, 2022. The San Mateo-San Francisco 4-H Youth Development Program is implementing the California 4-H COVID In-person guidelines. Masks and social distancing are no longer required for local indoor and outdoor 4-H activities.

Active 4-H members throughout the county can sign up to join these projects. You will need to contact the project leader(s) for more details on meeting requirements, location and times. Note: The project will be listed under the sponsoring 4-H Club in the ZSuite enrollment system.

The University of California 4-H Youth Development Program serves youth and teens in 57 of 58 California counties through traditional clubs, after-school programs, state-wide leadership conferences and camps.
