4-H Handbook
4-H Handbook
We are so thrilled you are excited about 4-H! 4-H is the largest youth development program in the nation. In our county, we had over 445 youth, ages 5 to 18 years old* enrolled in 2019-2020 with 30% taking active leadership roles as club officers, junior/teen leaders for projects, planners for county events and more. The youth participate in a wide range of local, county, regional and state projects/events in the areas of leadership, civic engagement, healthy living and STEM. The purpose of all opportunities is positive youth development (PYD) to enable youth to reach their full potential as competent, confident leaders who contribute to and connect with their communities.

*4-H age is your age by December 31 of the program year. The program year starts July 1 and ends June 30 of the following year

Make a Positive Impact Today!

As a 4-H volunteer you can:

  • Pass on your skills and passions to young people
  • Have a positive impact on the future generation
  • Encourage youth to follow their sparks
  • Apply your knowledge through hands-on learning

Our programs are proven to work, but they depend on the passions and devotion of our volunteers. Everything we do is a direct result of the help we get from our young people and adults alike.
