Sign up for Meta Business Manager
Meta Business Manager lets you create and manage multiple assets, such as Facebook Pages, Instagram accounts, audience lists, and product catalogs, all in one place. It also allows you to control user access and permissions for everyone working on your accounts, pages, and apps while maintaining full ownership of your assets. Without a Business Manager, it can be challenging to keep personal Facebook profiles separate from the business assets they manage.
To sign up:
Go to business.facebook.com/create and select “Create Account.”
Enter your name and confirm your identity using your Facebook login credentials.
Follow the prompts to set up your business account.
Assign at least two team members as backup account admins.
Register your new account here.
Do not create a dummy account
Avoid allowing staff to create fake or placeholder Facebook profiles to manage your organization’s Page—even if they prefer to keep their personal profiles separate from business activities. Shared or fake profiles violate Meta’s terms of service and may result in the account being flagged or closed, potentially causing you to lose access to your business assets.
Define Your Purpose
Clearly identify your page’s goals—whether it is increasing awareness, driving event participation, sharing research, or engaging with your community. Let this purpose guide your content strategy.
Prioritize Audience Value
Create content that is useful, educational, and relevant to your audience. Focus on how your information benefits them rather than solely promoting your organization.
Post Consistently
Maintain a predictable posting cadence to keep your audience engaged and your page active. Consistency helps build trust and improves visibility in the algorithm.
Use High-Quality Visuals
Strong images and short-form videos typically perform better than text-only posts. Ensure visuals are clear, professional, and aligned with your brand.
Write Clear, Conversational Copy
Keep captions concise and approachable. Avoid overly technical language when possible, and lead with the most important information.
Make Content Accessible
Add alt text to images, use captions for videos, and avoid excessive text in graphics. Accessibility ensures your content can reach the widest possible audience.
Encourage Engagement
Ask questions, invite feedback, and respond to comments in a timely and professional manner. Engagement signals relevance and strengthens community trust.
Leverage Facebook Features
Use Events, Live video, Groups, and Stories when appropriate to diversify your content and reach audiences in different ways.
Monitor Performance
Review analytics regularly to understand what resonates with your audience. Use these insights to refine your content strategy over time.
Align With Organizational Values
Ensure posts reflect your organization’s voice, mission, and principles while maintaining a respectful and inclusive digital environment.
