A New Law Concerning Neonicotinoids

On January 1 of this year a new law went into effect in California, greatly limiting the use of a pesticide class known as neonicotinoids. Originally developed in the 1980's, these pesticides became the most widely used class of insecticides in the world.

Dear Colleagues, It's with deep sadness that I share that we lost our colleague Steven Swain, environmental horticulture advisor for Marin and Sonoma counties, on Feb. 8. He was 58. Steven was with his family celebrating his wife's birthday in San Francisco when he collapsed.
