Welcome to UC Master Gardeners of San Joaquin County

The UC Master Gardener Program of San Joaquin County is part of University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR). We serve our community by sharing research-based, sustainable gardening practices tailored to our region.

Our trained volunteers provide practical guidance to help residents grow healthy gardens, produce food successfully, conserve water, and protect California’s natural resources. We also promote composting and soil-building practices that reduce organic material sent to landfills, turning food and yard waste into valuable resources that strengthen soil and support resilient landscapes.

Through workshops, demonstration gardens, helpline support, and community outreach, we help gardeners of all experience levels succeed in San Joaquin County’s unique climate.

Whether you are planting your first vegetable garden, managing a home orchard, or creating a water-wise landscape, we are here to help your garden thrive.
